I Used to Read Novels. Now I Skim Tweets. AI Didn’t Steal My Job — It Stole My Focus!!!
I was born a writer and a strategic thinker. 💭
My soul acts like a sponge to absorb all the good around me.
And my brain never stops pulling in ideas.
Even though I’m skilled, mature, and have a solid grip on my creativity, I still feel like I’ve been affected — badly — by this whole AI thing.
AI has made my work so easy that I’ve gotten too lazy to use my own brain.
And tbh I’m ashamed. I feel guilty.
Because deep down, I know if I actually used my brain, the results I’d produce for my social media clients would be 10x better.
But instead, I open the tools, slap something together, and move on.
I used to be able to read a 1000-page novel in one sitting. Now, I can’t even get through a blog post without skimming.
My reading stamina is gone. My brain feels like it’s not being exercised anymore.
This thought is alarming for me, because when I notice the lack of attention, creativity, and skill in myself, I start thinking about future generations.
🌸 Will we ever have another Khaled Hosseini in our time?
🌸 Will there be another Noam Chomsky?
🌸 Will we have a Pablo Picasso? I’m honestly in doubt.
How will Gen Alpha produce art, literature, theories, philosophies if they’re surrounded by AI 24/7?
Just like muscles grow stronger with use, the brain strengthens the more we exercise it.
Do you really believe this generation will become visionaries if their problem-solving and creativity are constantly outsourced to machines?
I don’t know. Maybe the public sees it differently. But this is what I feel when I notice my favorite hobbies — reading, writing, creating — slowly being eaten alive by AI.
I’m surely not anti-AI, but I miss using my brain. I just believe that overuse and obsession of anything is dangerous!!!
